ESP LTD Viper 256 BLK - Another SG?

So why another black SG?
Well the initial idea came to me while looking at my SGs and thinking:"I wonder how a white scratch plate would go with the black finish..."
Luckily ESP / LTD produces a SG - like guitar with a white pick guard which made my choice really easy.
Besides looks there is a mahogany body and neck with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard, master volume and tone controls with a coil split option and ESP designed LH - 150 pickups.

The neck has an interesting shape, ESP calls it " Thin U" which describes the feel quite accurately.

The pickups are okay but I must admit that I'm thinking about putting EMGs into the Viper and using the stock pickups on another guitar . We shall see...

Scalloped Fretboard Stratocaster

A no name Strat - changed the scratch plate and the knobs and put a trio of EMG S3 pickups in.

It has a neck with a completely scalloped fretboard.

Epiphone 1966 G-400 PRO - The Pelham Blue Buccaneer

All Skulls and Crossbones on this one.
The finish is called "Pelham Blue" and it is very sparkling.
It instantly evoked ideas of glittering ocean waves so I was inspired to try an appropriate theme with it.

Now I can wave my guitar like a pirate flag and board the drum kit like an enemy vessel.

It is set up for slide playing, giving you that special "Caribbean mood".

I was lucky enough to find some hilarious pirate knobs which look great on the blue body.

Jackson SLXT Soloist KAWA - Wasabi is the new green

Basswood body, neck - through construction with compund - radius rosewood fretboard.

It came with EMG HZ pickups but Jackson was kind enough to provide a huge control cavity, so I could easily fit in active pickups.
Now it's got the classic EMG 85 - 81 combination with master volume and tone and  3 - way switching.

The tasty paint job is called "Wasabi Green".
